Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff

Appearance: Of average size and a little skinny, but well-built from all the running around he does – mostly to avoid getting caught. He likes flying though seems to have no interest in being a sportsman – because he says he doesn’t look good in uniforms. His hair is a light brown in colour and always styled. He takes pride in his appearance, though doesn’t like to make it seem that way. His clothes are generally smart-casual, smart in their first appearance, but everything he has seems to have a certain worn-look about it, maybe marred with scorch or burn marks.

Personality: Fionn is loud and boisterous and generally likes people to be aware that he is in the room. He is cheerful, bright and has a very odd sense humour. He particularly enjoys playing pranks and enjoys classes where they involve some form of minor explosion as he has a particular delight in watching things blow up.

He doesn’t mind being a Hufflepuff, on the contrary, he thinks being a Hufflepuff is the best thing you can be. Hot House Head. Check. Not having to live up to House expectations. Check. General awesomeness and occasional badassery. Oh yes. Okay, so he doesn’t take schooling as seriously as his parents might want but, hey its his life isn’t it?

History: His family has had wizards and witches in it for as long as there have been witches and wizards in Ireland. Of course the bloodline has had muggles with magical powers added to it and back and forth throughout the centuries. The McLaren family aren’t a particularly prosperous family in terms of wizarding might, but they do well how they are.

Unfortunately for Fionn, his mum and dad had a domestic dispute a few years ago and they separated. Fionn now lives with his mother and his little sister Fiona lives with their dad. Occasionally they see each other at Christmas and sometimes on birthdays, but generally the two halves of the family meet up together very rarely – it is believed the messy break-up may have caused his apparent rebellious behaviour. Though he often says that he’s not as ‘textbook’ as everyone makes him out to be.

Special Skills/Talents Particularly skilful at needless charms that cause trouble or minor explosions, and is generally able to get his hands on any and all sorts of fireworks and prank materials.
